34TH INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

The 34th international folklore festival is held in the twentieth year of the year, which is in many ways peculiar. That is why this event is dedicated to a particular theme, theme of carnival or carnival.
Plants drop at the time of the start of the new vegetation cycle, when winter falls before the spring comes.
By old notions and calendars, it was the time of transition from old to new year. In this transitional period, the revelations, according to ancient beliefs, symbolically accounted for the uneasiness of the past year and sought to influence the new year in every respect by magic procedures. It is also a time when one is in one of his favorite roles – a man playing, homo ludens. He is disguising, temporarily frees up social stalemate, turns the world upside down and wrinkles his reality. The symbolism of the dress seems good at the beginning of the new millennium. Carved traditions in Croats are varied and rich, and all participants from abroad will exhibit their carnival customs. Viewers will meet with well-known carnival characters and scenes, but many will see it for the first time.
